Break-In 5 - Initial Results During the Break-In Process
What is Break-In...and Why Does It Matter?
One of the Most Overlooked Aspects in Audio
Initial Results During the Break-In Process
Here's what to expect as a typical system begins to Break-In with Tri-Phazers:
- The first noticeable change is usually an increase in power handling. As the speakers re-acclimate to a now balanced incoming signal, they will be able to take a much heavier load with no breakup in the sound.
- As each cone is re-conditioned, an increase in frequency definition begins to take place. The entire spectrum begins to project in a more clear, tight and distinct manner, from tremendous bass to intrincate top end details, and all the once unheard subtleties in between. With the speakers accepting a balanced and timed delivery of frequencies, music once again sounds like it did in the recording studio.
- Spatial definition is usually the last change to take off. Once the system is in phase and the cones on time, common issues such as phase cancellation, standing waves, and the single "Sweet Spot" are virtually eliminated. The stereo image will really begin to open up and fill the room. Sounds and instruments begin to have a visual place in the mix that are as easily seen and felt as they are heard.
- Beyond that, the listener will notice a less fatiguing mix, and a more enjoyable and inviting listening while their system improves with every minute of use.
